National SF/F Writers day [grassroots]

Over on livejournal (thanks @clarkesworld!), Sharon Lee is proposing June 23 be National SF/F Writers day, and I like it! (that’s supposed to be my official endorsement voice, btw). I could try summarizing the post, but you know what? Its short enough that you should be able to hop over there and read it yourself and then come back.

drums fingers waiting

I think the biggest challenge would be finding a way to encapsulate it all in one post without either rambling or sound like a freak (more of one, more of one). Not a problem I expect many of you face, but there has to be at least a few of you that will see my dilemma. Do I write about the authors I ingested through High School, over and over and over again until my indoctrination in the Golden Age of SF was complete? Or do I pick the thread up where it was recovered a few years ago, after laying dormant for almost a decade? Or do I cop out with a list of lists, providing my usual witty and insightful comments as I send you into the aether to discover your own new territories?

The possibilities are endless! (BTW, yes, I’m procrastinating at the moment, and will probably follow this post up with a resounding end to my Mass Effect game before attempting to fill in the missing 1k or 2 I need for my day’s writing goals.)
