I realize that at this point this is off topic, but it was the only way to get the planet only readers the conclusion 🙂 I’ve had a lot of good feedback from yesterday’s rant, I wanted to take a second to point out that it was me ranting, and a good night’s sleep and a clear head makes for a more peaceful Michael. Yesterday’s blog entry about the ebuild from Hades was a little bit of an overstatement (so says a clear headed awake mcummings), and foolish or not, it’s up to me to make sure that that ebuild results in a proper package for folks – all the original contributor can do (and did) was point out a desire by folks for the package and offer a guideline on how the ebuild should function.
I still stand by patching vs. 9 mile long seds though – and I love sed, but when it starts looking like paragraphs in a composition maybe its time to find an alternative method of changing a file.
