Plotting for fun…and profit!

Well, it’s another week done in Chez Cummings, which means another week of the Universe taking its taxes and tithes from us. Its curious, in a way – we’ve been fortunately insulated from a lot of the recession, and yet our own bad timing (I hesitate to use the words “bad luck” – I don’t want to give chance misfortunes too much credit, after all) has resulted in us feeling the pinch of late.

So, despite what the gnomes may be scheming as a solution, yours truly is back on board with writing every day, not for the lofty goals of improving my craft or sharing a new story with an old friend, but for the simple bottom line of it sure would be nice to get a few things taken care of. To that end, yesterday I finished the first revision of Captain and the Sword of Ashanka (also referred to as the Tan Eel, but I was afraid the humorous cultural reference wouldn’t help the story anyway). I’ve handed the story over to my two oldest critics – Kim and Mel – who I’m confident will be only too happy to tell me its good, then rip me to shreds on the finer points of misleading dialog, lost action, and all together incomprehensibility of the story.

All right, time for me to get ready for work, put on my monkey suit, and go dance with the other poo slingers at ThinkGeek đŸ™‚
