Found this blurb on the making of a fantasy cover interesting, in part because The Barrow is one of the ARC’s I’m working my way through right now (along with a half dozen other, over committed books)
Gene’s got a great collection of weapons and props, certainly far more pieces than I do, and I even had a bit of a geek moment when I spotted the sword he used for the cover of Joe Abercrombie’s Best Served Cold (which I believe wound up being used as Erim’s sword on the cover, though you don’t really get a look at the hilt; there are other pictures from the studio shoot where you can see that it’s the same sword).
I thought those two covers had a similar feel!
