Tons of updates (i’m too lazy to blog)

I’ve been real lax on blogging lately, so the following is a whole slew of stuff from the top of my head. Of course, coming from the top of my head, that means that I’ll forget to mention most of it and this will be a somewhat shorter-than-it-could-have-been posting πŸ™‚

g-cpan – OK, tons of updates on this one of late. The new version is in the tree now, complete with pretty colors (yea cab), searching, the whole nine yards. Only difference right now between the version in the tree and the one in svn/cvs is a minor catch for folks that have PORTDIR_OVERLAY=”${PORTDIR_OVERLAY} /some/dir” – since we split on the spaces, we were getting a null value as one of our dirs, but our tests were taking that possibility into consideration. If this becomes a real issue for anyone I’ll post the update, but for now expect the next release to be 0.14 with more features and better dep checking.

gentoo-bugger – coming to a portage tree near you in the next week. I’ve posted the rc1 for 0.09.2 on SourceForge, mostly making sure no one finds any bugs in it before dropping the rc in the name. This version does some slight obfuscation of user passwords (useful for just making sure someone can’t su and read your password, nothing more complicated than that), dynamic formatting for height, outfile options, you know, your usual “this is a real app” type stuff πŸ™‚

perl-cleaner – expect it to be broken out of dev-lang/perl/files today and into its own app-admin ebuild. This is in preperation for it being included in revdep-rebuilder, which should close out bug 73932, a bug I let languish because I didn’t think my little hack was actually worthy.

I’m sure there was other stuff, but I’m at a loss for what it was. If you remember what I was thinking of, let me know so I can post it πŸ™‚
