Wow, Monday mornings are even worse than weekends for trying to provide a list of places worthy of your precious few clicks. I'd kinda hoped that the weekend had pent up a flood of links that would be unleashed come this morning, but that is not the case.

  • Hearing my cries at the return of the squirrel chronicles, xkcd has this to offer to cheer me up today.
  • Kelly McCullough's post yesterday on how he got into writing, albeit while procrastinating about giving a talk on the same subject, was entertaining and insightful. I'm always curious by how people got into whatever it is they do. Half the time it seems only good fortune and chance are how people get where they are, and its always nice to confirm that when you have to go back to your dayjob. Yes, you.
  • Speaking of improving yourself (or at least thinking of it - what do you want from me? It's 5 something in the morning, and I'm thinking about how nice it would be to have an even better paying job that didn't have me leaving the house...ever...), zenhabits is running an article on steps for self-improvement. As with so many other things, I won't claim there were any major revelations here - there aren't. At the same time, sometimes it helps to have the steps laid out for you simply, with concise supporting text to kick you in the rear.
  • And while not a new posting, Jake's tour of his conversion of an old school bus into a Victorian RV was, well, frankly, scary, mostly because when he finished the interior was so transformed in my opinion. I'm really looking forward to his steamification of the old car chassis he bought.

Don't blame me for the lackluster postings, blame the web. They make me do it.

If you thought this rambled...

About mcummings

Michael is happily married and the proud father of three girls. He acknowledges that that means that as soon as they hit their teens, the bathroom will be lost forever and his hypertension will go through the roof as he hunts down a shotgun. In the meantime, he enjoys tinkering with Linux (former Gentoo dev, w00t), fixing his frankenparts PC, and attempting to write stories that are worthy of reading (a ways to go on that one). Its nice to have aspirations at least :)
